Spring North is working in partnership with the Lancashire and South Cumbria Cancer Alliance to make sure the voices and experiences of local people help shape cancer services across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
Through our Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) work, we are creating more opportunities for patients, carers and communities to share their experiences, influence decisions and be meaningfully involved in the development of cancer services.
We are particularly focused on reaching communities experiencing the poorest cancer outcomes and people whose voices may not always be heard through traditional engagement.
Working closely with the Cancer Alliance Early Diagnosis Team, our VCFSE partners and communities across the region, we will bring together lived experience and community insight to help inform the design, delivery and evaluation of early diagnosis initiatives.
Our role is to help build the bridge between communities and the health system, using the trusted relationships that already exist within the VCFSE sector to make involvement more inclusive, accessible, and representative of the communities we serve.
Ultimately, this work is about making sure cancer services aren’t just designed for communities, but shaped with them.
