Through our experienced team and our established network of grassroots, voluntary, faith, and community partners, we recruit, train, and support volunteer Cancer Champions who act as trusted voices within their communities. These Champions play a key role in tackling cultural stigma, improving cancer understanding, and helping individuals navigate screening, treatment, and care services.
Spring North provides overall project management, governance, quality assurance, and partnership coordination. We ensure the project is evidence-led, responsive to local needs, and designed for long-term sustainability. By working closely with health commissioners, community leaders, and local organisations, we are building a model of cancer awareness and support that strengthens local capacity, reduces inequalities, and creates a lasting legacy across Blackburn with Darwen.
Spring North is proud to lead and manage the Cancer Champions Project in Blackburn with Darwen, working in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support. As the lead organisation, we oversee the full delivery of this targeted initiative, which aims to improve cancer awareness, early detection, and support specifically within South Asian communities across the borough.
