Grade: SCP 17-22 £30,151 – £33,820
Hours: 37 hours per week
Holiday Entitlement: 25 days (pro rata) plus bank holidays
Probationary Period: 3 months
Period of Notice: 1 month during probationary period, thereafter 2 months
Base: Spring North, 1 Exchange Street, Blackburn, BB1 7JN

Job Purpose

The Projects Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the effective coordination and management of Spring North’s contracts and projects. The postholder will work closely with subcontracted teams, commissioners, and stakeholders to ensure deadlines and contractual obligations are met. They will be responsible for collating and analysing key project data, supporting contract performance management, and contributing to the overall strategic objectives of Spring North.

Duties of the Post

Scope of work:

  • The post holder will coordinate complex areas of our contracts and work with our subcontracted teams and commissioners to meet deadlines and collate the detailed information required to meet contractual requirements.
  • They must be able to use judgement to deal with daily unforeseen problems with limited guidance, within established contractual procedures.
  • They will generally have the freedom to make practical and operational decisions within closely defined policy and procedural guidance.
  • They will need to be proficient in delivering all routine aspects of the job but will be involved in non-routine work e.g. supporting less experienced staff or taking part in project work with other Senior team members.
  • Communication skills are important as the role holder will be interacting with internal and external partners regularly.

 

Accountabilities

  • Input, collate and analyse technical data from a variety of sources and interpret findings for review or reporting to a more senior level. May include producing ad-hoc reports for project work. 
  • Regularly liaise with subcontracted partners dealing with issues, this may require liaising with the head of service to challenge poor performance in line with the contract output specification.
  • Provide information, advice and guidance to commissioners by interpreting established procedures, using technical experience and by applying best practice within the field.
  • Regularly communicate with other stakeholders and interdependent partners to share information, build working relationships and to ensure joined up service provision.
  • Suggest improvements to current working methods to contribute to improvements in service delivery.
  • Produce regular reports into the performance of the contracts

 

General Responsibilities

  • To ensure a high standard of professional conduct in dealing with other services and members of the public.
  • To contribute to the update of Spring North’s policies and procedures.
  • To undertake any training considered necessary by the line manager.
  • To participate in a process of continuous evaluation of the organisation’s effectiveness in fulfilling its aims and objectives.
  • To comply in all areas of work with Spring North’s Equality & Diversity Policy, Safeguarding and other policies.
  • To participate in Supervision.
